Recently I partnered with Stonyfield to try their new products and maybe even use them in a recipe or 2. To me, it’s a perfect fit because the only yogurt we eat is Stonyfield. and free product?? Yes please.
It’s important for me that we eat organic when we can. I recently read an article that said organic isn’t any more nutritious for you than regular non organic products. Huh? I was really kind of confused by it. Do “regular” products have more protein, less sugar, more vitamins and minerals than organic products? Maybe and maybe not. I’ve found information for both sides. Imagine that. BUT, organic doesn’t have herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, antibiotics, synthetic hormones, drugs (to name a few) … and let’s be honest. It just plain tastes better. That should tell you something.
Being a family who is always on the go with work and whatever else we have going on, we are constantly trying to find good snacks to take along that are at least semi-healthy. We try beef jerky, fruit and vegetable squeezies and granola bars. I have such a hard time getting in the protein we need. You can only choke down so much ground beef. Appetizing. So I was thrilled when we received the protein smoothies from Stonyfield. We decided to try one by one and started with the vanilla. It was basically like a vanilla drinkable yogurt. Very smooth with a good amount of not so fakey vanilla flavor. We tried the chocolate one next and while it was very good – vanilla won over the chocolate. But the strawberry – the strawberry had you thinking you just picked fresh strawberries from the garden and added them to your blender for an over the top smootie. Did I just hear a robin?? Maybe it’s because we have a foot of snow and it’s 3 degrees here right now and are all dreaming of Spring or maybe it’s because this is just one great smoothie. I’m picking the latter.
