This time of the year the oranges are so good! I can’t seem to get enough of them. What better way to use them than to make orange julius.
My mom used to make us orange julius when my brothers and I were little. I think it had frozen orange juice concentrate, white sugar and nonfat powdered milk in it. I’m sure she’s shuttering right now thinking about it 🙂
When I make smoothies I always try to sneak a few greens in – because it’s so easy to. You honestly cannot taste the green one bit. I had to make my husband close his eyes before taking a drink to prove that you couldn’t taste the green. I knew if he would have spotted the green before I fed the “orange” julius to him he would have claimed he could taste it. Tricky.
Pretty easy ingredient list. Fresh oranges, honey, vanilla, whole milk yogurt and ice.
Fancy glass or goblet? My great Aunt Velma gave this glass to me. Growing up I spent a lot of time with her and one thing she did was kept this fancy glass filled with water right by her kitchen sink. She said that every time she walked by she’d take a big drink. – and that it’s always more fun to drink out of something pretty.
